The flat cycling route connects Celje, Štore and Šentjur, following the Voglajna River and the route of the historic Southern Railway for much of the way. Almost entirely separated from traffic, it is also suitable for families with children. Smooth asphalt and easy terrain make for a relaxed ride in either direction.

Celje
The route starts at the car park by Celje railway station, near the Celje Historical Archives. The cycle path descends through the trees towards the river, shortly after which we cross the Hudinja River, which flows into the Voglajna a few hundred metres downstream.
Štore
As we arrive in Štore, a steelworks comes into view on the opposite bank of the river, continuing the town’s long tradition of iron and steel production. The steel bridges spanning the Voglajna are another reminder of Štore’s industrial heritage.
Along the Voglajna towards Šentjur
Beyond Štore, the route follows the river between open meadows. Along this section, we cross a wooden bridge and a railway crossing, with a rest area and benches conveniently located beside the route.

Šentjur
The route ends at the bus station in Šentjur. The town is closely associated with the Ipavec family, whose composers played an important role in the development of Slovenian musical culture. After a short break, we retrace the same route back towards Celje.
Celje

The entire route is almost completely flat. It follows the D1 cycle route and can easily be shortened thanks to the numerous connecting roads along the way.
