The cycling route connects Celje and Laško, following the Savinja River for much of the way. From Celje, it passes the imposing Celje Castle, crosses the river and continues through Jagoče, where the road climbs above the valley before descending towards Laško. The route combines dedicated cycling paths, quiet local roads and the historic centre of this famous spa and brewing town.

The route starts at the car park by Celje railway station. From here, we follow the Celje–Laško cycle path for several kilometres.
Savinja Cycling Bridge
We cross the Savinja River once again via the cycling bridge and continue along a quiet local road. From here, the route begins a gentle climb.
Views and the village of Jagoče
The road climbs through Jagoče, a small village on the hillside above the Savinja. From higher up, beautiful views open across the river and surrounding valley before we descend towards Laško.
Thermana Laško
On the opposite bank lies the Thermana Laško spa complex. Laško has more than 160 years of spa tradition, and its thermal water reaches between 32 and 35 °C at the source.

We ride into the centre of Laško, passing the Parish Church of St. Martin. Laško is also closely associated with brewing: Laško Brewery has been operating here since 1825.
Blessed Spring
Just before the climb towards Jagoče, beneath Hum Hill, a small chapel stands beside the Žegnan Spring. The spring was once renowned for having the finest drinking water in the area. According to local legend, its name comes from a thirsty priest who, through prayer and the sign of the cross, caused the spring to flow more strongly. Located right beside the route, it makes an ideal spot to stop and refill your water bottles.
In Laško, we turn around and retrace the route we have already ridden. Once back in Celje, you can round off the ride with lunch in the city centre.
